Information
Tereza Mundilová is a photographer and director based in Berlin. With Czech roots she grew up in Vienna, honing her visual skills in Berlin and New York. Today she works as the editor of Vogue Germany’s video department and shoots for publications including Crackmagazine, i-D Germany, ZEITmagazin, Vogue Czechoslovakia and beyond.
Lighting, colors and a connection to the person – those are defining elements for Tereza Mundilová’s imagery. Growing up in Vienna she started taking pictures with an old digi cam at the age of 5 and spent her afternoons working on color grading and special effects.
Her images are light, sensitive and intimate. Influenced by the places she has lived in she creates a nostalgic atmosphere reflecting her Eastern European roots. She thinks in images, but in movement and narrative, this applies for both. Being interested in in the way male and female bodies have been portrayed, Tereza’s work can be seen as a form of activism. By portraying soft and vulnerable versus powerful and heroic perspectives on other bodies, she offers a more diverse perception of these narratives.
