Photographer Dan Martensen was born and raised in Pleasantville New York. He has been involved in the arts since childhood, picked up a camera at a young age and has since never stopped shooting. He studied photography at the Rhode Island School of Design and eventually worked as an assistant to photographers Tom Munro, Stephane Sednaoui and Annie Leibovitz.
Since the start of his career Dan has been known to shoot some of the worlds biggest models, musicians, artists and coolest young trend setters. His work has been seen in shows around the world including the New York Armory Photography show, Art Basel, and recently in an exhibtion at the acclaimed Deichtorhallen Museum in Hamburg.
Dan Martensen portrait and fashion work has appeared in publications such as i-D, Vogue, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, The Last Magazine, and GQ. Dan has shot campaigns for ESPRIT, H&M, Costume National, and Converse One Star. He has collaborated on special projects with designers such as Alexander Wang and David Yurman.
