Information on data protection

The following information refers to the purpose, type and scope of collecting, processing and use of personal data on our website. The following information refers primarily to the collection, processing and storage of personal data by our web server. Please note that there may be additional information for registered users in our terms of use.

Personal data refers to individual details of the personal and factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person.

During visits to our websites, data is collected, processed and used in a way that cannot always exclude a personal reference. In order that the pages can be displayed in your browser, the IP address must be collected and recorded. As a rule, an IP address is issued dynamically by your Internet provider at present. Since this address usually changes on a regular basis, we cannot establish any personal reference from the IP address. In the case of static IP addresses, however, it may theoretically be possible to establish a personal reference in certain circumstances.

Specifically, the following data is recorded about each retrieval:

– IP address of the requesting computer
– Operating system of the requesting computer
– Browser version of the requesting computer
– Name of the requested file
– Date and time of retrieval
– Data quantity transferred
– Referring URL

The stored data will be used exclusively for statistical purposes and not to establish a specific personal reference. The data may also be used to help eliminate errors.

IP addresses are deleted after 72 hours at the latest.

We use "cookies" on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your hard disk. Cookies are required to enable certain functions of the service. You have the option of preventing the use of cookies through appropriate settings in your browser. We nevertheless advise that only limited use of our websites may then be possible. Cookies do not install or run any programs or other applications on your computer.

Web analysis

This website uses the web analysis tool called “Piwik”. Its purpose is to provide an appropriate structure for this website and consequently to optimize our Internet products.

In the version used here, IP addresses are anonymized through shortening the IP addresses by at least one octet. As a result it is not possible for us to establish a personal reference from the IP address. Your IP address is also only used in the shortened form (i.e. without personal reference) to conduct a rough geo-localization. Your country of origin and your access provider (“Internet service provider”) are established and recorded at this point.

The Piwik analysis tool works by installing a cookie that is stored on your device as a small text file beyond the end of your visit, i.e. a “persistent cookie”.

It is not possible for us to establish a personal reference through these cookies. The cookies are created for the purpose of compiling indirect personal user statistics (“pseudonymous usage profiles”). Under Section 15 Para. 3 Telemedia Act (TMG), you have a right to object to this processing of data, which you can assert as follows.

Right of objection within the meaning of Section 15 Para. 3 Telemedia Act (TMG):

You can prevent analysis of user behavior if you block the installation of cookies by this domain ( in your browser, e.g. by setting an exception in the browser (e.g. in the Firefox browser). If required, please consult the help file on how you can set this up in your browser.

Depending on the particular situation, you can of course also delete these cookies in your browser in order to remove tracking information, either in particular circumstances or periodically.

You also have the option of preventing any form of user analysis on this website in future by setting a "block cookie" or "opt-out cookie". You can do this in the following checkbox if you make the appropriate setting there. As long as you do not delete this cookie in the browser, analysis of your user behavior will not be possible. If you have already set the opt-out cookie, this will be displayed in the subsequent message and you then have the option of re-activating web analysis for this website.

Use of Facebook social plugins

Our website uses "social plugins" (“Plugins”) of the social network ("Facebook"). Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, in the USA.  Plugins can be recognized by one of the Facebook logos (white "f" on a blue tile or a "thumbs up" symbol) or are indicated with the additional text "Facebook social plugin". A list of Facebook social plugins and their appearance can be viewed here:

When you access a web page on our website that includes a plugin of this type, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the web page. As a result we do not have any influence on the scope of the data that Facebook collects with the aid of this Plugin, so the following information is provided to the best of our knowledge:

By integrating the plugin, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the relevant page of our website. If you are logged in with Facebook, it will be able to assign your visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the Plugins, for example if you click the "Like" button or submit comments, the corresponding information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and saved there. If you are not a member of Facebook, it is nonetheless possible that Facebook will find out your IP address and store it and, if applicable, further data about the browser you use.  To learn more about the purpose and extent of data collection, downstream processing and the use of this data by Facebook as well as your rights in this respect and the settings available for the protection of your privacy, please see Facebook's privacy policy:

If you are a Facebook member and do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website and to link this with your member data stored on Facebook, you should log off from Facebook before visiting our website.  It is also possible to block Facebook social plugins with the aid of add-ons for your browser, e.g. using "Facebook Blocker".

Amendment to these provisions

A change in statutory requirements or in our service may make it necessary to adapt this data protection statement. The current version of the data protection provisions can be viewed at any time through the Data Protection link.

If you have any questions about data protection or wish to assert your rights as a person affected, please contact the address given in the Imprint.
