Based in Paris, Sofia & Mauro met in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Sofia Sanchez was studying cinema while Mauro Mongiello was playing music in a rock band.
After moving to Paris they won the Picto prize for young fashion photographers in 2002 and held their first exhibition at Le Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Since then Sofia & Mauro’s imagery has been published in a number of international publications, amongst them Numéro, Flair, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, Russian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, L’Uomo Vogue, Italian Vogue, Lula, Violet, Vanity Fair and Bergdorf Goodman. They recently shot the latest Air France campaign, which adds to their previous campaigns for Armani, Lanvin and Anna Sui, among others.
